Greenbelt Community Orchestra started rehearsing in 2023, led by conductors Derek Maseloff and Seth Glabman. Sadly, Derek left us in the fall of 2025 to take an army band conducting position. Our new principal conductor is Andrew Samlal, who is currently pursuing a doctorate in conducting at the University of Maryland. We will also have an additional assistant conductor this fall, UMD Masters student Sasha Kandybin.

Our mission is to provide an outlet for local musicians to play together and to share our love of music with the local community.  All orchestral instruments are welcome (until we reach capacity for each section). We aim to have a special focus on string players, who are currently under-served locally.
