Greenbelt Community Orchestra started rehearsing in July 2023, led by conductors Derek Maseloff and Seth Glabman.
Our mission is to provide an outlet for local musicians to play together and to share our love of music with the local community. All orchestral instruments are welcome (until we reach capacity for each section). We aim to have a special focus on string players, who are currently under-served locally.
Concerts
Our next concert will be a special program for Black History Month on Sunday, February 23, 3pm at the Community Center
We will play music by Florence Price, Joseph Bologne, Coleridge-Taylor and Quinn Mason.
Sign up here to receive email notifications about future concerts.
We are currently seeking an additional oboe player and an an additional trombone player! Please let us know if you know of anyone who might be interested in joining us.
Please consider donating to the orchestra so that we can continue to perform free concerts in the community, and so that we can play a more diverse selection of music (it is expensive to pay for the rights and rent the parts for music that is not in the public domain, e.g. music by women and minorities).
Rehearsals
We rehearse on Thursdays at 7 p.m. in Greenbelt Community Center. If you would like to join us, please fill out the Interest Form to be added to our email list for communications. Rehearsals for the fall concert will start on August 1.
